• Lifetime infection
• no cure
• no signs and symptoms

principles of transmission:

• exit
• sufficient amount,

AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)

• a health condition wherein the immune system is totally weakened. 
• with opportunistic infections (tb, pneumonia, meningitis, chronic diarrhea, etc)

Can we identify the person with HIV?

• Voluntary
• Confidential
• With pre and post test counseling

Mahalagang isaalang-alang bago magpatest:

• window period- 3months from your last risky exposure

How HIV is transmitted? (three modes of transmission)

Unprotected penetrative sexual intercourse

• anal sex
• vaginal sex
• oral sex (low risk)

Blood and other blood products:

• blood transfusion
• organ transplantation
• use of contaminated injecting needles

Infected mother to her child:

• during pregnancy
• delivery
• while breastfeeding

Four Body Fluids na DAPAT IWASAN:

• BLOOD
• SEMEN
• VAGINAL SECRETION
• BREAST MILK

Five Preventive Measures:

• Abstinence
• Be faithful/ Mutual monogamous relationship
• Correct and consistent condom use
• Don't use contaminated injecting needles/ don't abuse substances
• Education/early detection and treatment of STIs
